The power of recovery, compassion and long-term wellbeing was at the centre of an emotional book launch hosted by Enable Law, featuring award-winning author Iain Peters and his acclaimed autobiography The Corridor. The event, held in Bristol, focused on the realities of trauma recovery and the importance of holistic support — emotional, social and legal — for survivors of childhood abuse. Iain, now 77, spoke openly about how counselling, self-expression and rebuilding trust were key components in his healing journey. Living on the North Devon coast with his wife Ellen, Iain described how his book charts not only pain, but the possibility of reclaiming joy, identity and purpose later in life. His writing has been recognised with the prestigious Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature, reflecting the depth and honesty of his storytelling.
