A recruiter and career coach have teamed up to launch a free support programme for people who have unexpectedly found themselves out of work, offering practical help and emotional support at a time when many professionals are struggling in a tough jobs market. The Comeback Club has been created by recruitment specialist Rich Howell and is supported by career reinvention coach Camilla Young, founder of Rebel Spark. It is designed to help people whose careers have been disrupted by redundancy, restructuring or sudden job loss, particularly those working behind many of the UK’s best-known food, drink, beauty and household brands. The programme is funded by the Marvel FMCG Foundation. The Foundation is backed by Marvel FMCG’s 1% model: for every successful placement, Marvel contributes the equivalent of 1% of the placed candidate’s salary from its fee into the Foundation. The model has generated almost £250,000 over the past five years.
